SATO TYPE 1 TO 2 CONVERSION
...........................................................
This depicts the Sato Type I Rearset conversion to the the Sato Type II rearsets for the Ducati Paul Smart and the S1000.
As you can see the Type II mounts the Brake Master cylinder on the rearsets. The primary concern was if the Brake side would clear the swingarm.
The origiunal First generation Sato Tyoe I came with a 5mm Spacer which caused the footpeg bolt to strike the swing arm. A 10mm Spacer was custom made and the clearance issue was resolved.
The 10mm spacer used with the 15mm Master stay is sufficient to clear the rearsets with the Brake Master cylinder mounted. In the final installation the 15mm was used to mount the rearsets.
NOTE: I mounted the master Stays in reverse to furthur bring down the rearsets. The Recommended use will bring up the rearsets. either way it will work.

FINAL WORDS; This is a very cpmprhensive and well thought out conversion. Using the rear brake now seems much easier then the stock brake set up.
Thanks to Kyle Racing and Mikiko of Sato for their support.
